Hi, I'm Matt, the creative behind everything you see here at Dawnfire Art and Design. I'm based in Perth, Australia, and, as the name "Dawnfire Art and Design" suggests, I'm an artist and designer. Now, I know that sounds kinda vague - "artist" and "designer" could mean anything from a music artist to a fashion designer, but that's the point: these days, design rarely uses purely one set of skills from a specific discipline. These days, the industry is demanding more and more collaboration from different areas of design to create bigger and better things, from blockbuster movies and AAA video games to new experiences and services.
So, I could have said that I'm an illustrator, graphic designer, packaging designer, layout designer, brand and identity designer, collateral designer, service designer, wayfinding designer, web designer, social media designer, UI designer, UX designer, animator, 3D modeller, concept artist, game designer, digital painter, texture artist, lighting artist, songwriter and composer. But that doesn't quite encompass the breadth and interconnectedness of my skills.
...And it's a bit much :)
When I'm not working, I'm usually chipping away at my own personal projects, watching movies, playing video games, playing board games with friends, or playing guitar.
I'm a reliable, friendly and sensible guy and very passionate and dedicated worker. I enjoy working as part of a team, but am also capable of producing great things on my own. I'm currently looking for some work in any of the fields listed above where I can help bring new projects to life!
